George Mack, his wife Louella and his two sons Edward and Irwin moved to High River in 1905. Their daughter Leah was born in 1910. He soon became heavily involved in High River’s business and political life. In 1907 he was Town Clerk, then was on town council in 1908-09 and from 1919 to 1922. In between, and afterwards, he was the Secretary-Treasurer employed by the Town of High River from 1909 to 1919 and from 1924 to 1946 He contributed to the community through membership in Service Clubs, volunteering and fundraising for many organizations, causes and town improvement projects.  George attended the organizational meeting of the High River Rotary Club on October 11, 1928. In 1936 he served as President. In 1947 Rotary held a special evening honouring George as Charter Member and Town Secretary. He passed away in 1951.
