Canadian Flags are sprouting up again, and just in time for Canada Day. The High River Rotary Club Flag Fundraiser is on it's second go-round for the Canada Day long weekend. Those who bought flags on Victoria Day long weekend in May will see flags reappear this week. High River Rotary Club President Elect, Damian Boyle says popularity has only increased in the program since May long weekend. "We started with about 63 to be put in the ground Monday morning and now we have 75 by Monday afternoon. So we'll be putting more flags out, and I suspect again we'll see a lot more interest after this, once people see the flags and ask what's going on with them." Boyle says it's so exciting to see the flags and people celebrating pride in their nation, especially on Canada Day but there's also more their message. "They can contribute to worthwhile charities in the High River area. We do that through our youth support programs, the Handi-Bus, through all kinds of small and large supports we provide locally and internationally, so it's not only a matter of national pride, it's about supporting your community at the same time."Flags are on sale until Friday June 28th, and Boyle says they are on for a discounted rate since there's only two weekends left in the program. "We're going to be putting up flags right up to Friday, by the end of next week we'll take them all out. For those buying flags this week, you'll get it again on Labour Day weekend for a special discounted price."
